MAP stands for "Minimum Advertised Price". A name brand
manufacturer needs to have the perceived value of its product conveyed to
consumers correctly, as part of its product differentiation strategy. MAP sets
the mandatory guidelines on the lowest price that can be advertised for a
particular product. On the internet, MAP dictates the lowest price that can be
shown on the product information page, although it does not require the final
price to be the same in the shopping cart. In summary, an
Authorized Dealer has its right to sell to consumers
at any price it wishes, but it cannot display a price lower than the MAP on its
web site. Our LPP (Lowest Price Protection) will still
ensure you to get the best deal while adhering to the MAP.
